The Urban Decay 714 lipstick is a bright red matte. As we all know there are no less than 10,000 shades of red lipsticks at the drugstore. So, my choice for an alternative is the NYX matte lipstick in pure red which is actually a bright orange red $6. Although this color does not seem to be offered on the Ulta website I do feel it would be available in store where there are more options.

I don't feel you can ever go wrong with NYX matte lipsticks. NYX matte lipsticks are pigmented, easy to find and a great price. That said we should not forget about the Wet N Wild megalast lipsticks sold just about everywhere that come in several shades of red for $1.99.

I feel this is a great choice for an alternative not only because I love REVLON drugstore lipsticks but because this particular Fushsia lipstick has finely milled blue glitter in it which makes it have a blue hue. Such a great fun color!
